The Sacred Passion Surfboard Wax Story.
Inspired over 30 years ago by one of the worlds greatest ‘big wave’ surfers, and a little old surf movie he appeared in called Mad Wax, this venture has a story to tell.
Mad Wax was story of a young surfer (Ross Clarke Jones) who tried his hand at making his own surfboard wax, only to find it teleported him and his friends to the maddest and most remote surfing locations in the world!
A few years later in 1993, on a little farm in the village of Bellingen on the mid north coast of NSW, ‘we’ developed the idea of growing passionfruit…. with a spin off business manufacturing surf wax… calling it Passion Wax “Rub it on your Stick”!
Cut to 2023. Well, as life’s a journey, the story has its twists & turns, rises and falls and is full of surprises.
While still living in the district, the wheels fell off the relationship, the vocation changed and evolved but with a common thread woven throughout, Ive come full circle and resurrected the wax manufacturing, calling it Sacred Passion - in alignment with my philosophy, natural therapies, spiritual healing experience and my devotion to inspire and help people in this crazy crazy world we call Earth.
Sacred Passion is a term used to describe that place within us… somewhere near, where I belive, our Soul lives.
This is why a connection to religous teachings use the term as well.
Its what drives us to explore, gets us excited to practice, conjures interest and above all, creates the conquering energy/ vibration of love - and passion.
So here we are!
On this planet, finding our way - all together, yet distant.
The thing that makes you feel connected is the very thing that Sacred Passion vows to encourage.
You love to surf.
It makes you happy.
You yearn for it.
You strive to master each and every wave.
The Sacred Passion logo is the Triquetra, woven with a golden ring to symbolise commitment. A powerful symbol, carefully chosen, to Evoke Your Journey.
The Triquetra has been used for centuries, by many cultures from Japanese Buhddists to Celtic Pagans, to contemporary Catholic iconography of the Holy Trinity. Even Thor has it enscribed on his hammer Mjölnir, in the 2011 film Thor. After Odin utters to Mjölnir the words "Whosoever holds this hammer, if he be worthy, shall possess the power of Thor", the Triquetra vanishes. It represents Asgard, Midgard, and Utgard. In Wiccan practice, the Triquetra is the ‘Tripple Goddess of Protection’.
